The Grotesque is an enemy that appears only in the Hungover section in Conker's Bad Fur Day and Conker: Live & Reloaded.

Role in Conker series[]

The Grotesque appears in the Hungover chapter in Conker's Bad Fur Day. As he had been sitting on gothic architecture for 200 years before presumably moving on to the bridge, he decided to get comfy on it. Unfortunately for a very drunk Conker, he was in the way of him getting home. The Grotesque refused to bulge, though when Conker asked whether it was early in the day to talk about gothic architecture, he dared him to come closer so they could talk about "things of another nature." To defeat him, Conker must use his Frying Pan to fight with. When hit, he laughs at the fact Conker thought he could win with a frying pan, only to fall off the bridge. Conker's reaction of grinning with a mock wave goodbye and a thought bubble saying "See ya." indicated that him falling over due to laughing at the weak attack was his exact intent all along. The impact caused a boulder to block the tunnel.

In Conker: Live & Reloaded, after Conker hits the Grotesque with his Frying Pan, he says "A frying pan? You stupid little Twat!" — Conker, breaking the fourth wall, knows the Grotesque should've fallen off. The Grotesque tells him the designer changed the Hungover chapter a bit as a way to fool the audience to thinking the rest of the game would be different from the original and tells Conker to try something else. Conker then uses a Baseball Bat to whack him; a boulder then falls down crushing the Grotesque. When Conker uses the B button on a wooden panel he uses TNT to blow the rock up leading him to the Windy chapter and the rest of the world.

How to Beat[]

First talk to The Grotesque then pull the switch. This opens the door. Then afterward enter the door, knock out the key, take it to the door and open it. Then head up to The Grotesque's perch and hit him. Sit back and watch as he falls to his death (or gets crushed, depending).

  • At the end of the Spooky chapter in Conker's Bad Fur Day, his dead corpse can be seen when Conker is swimming.
  • If the player heeds the Grotesque's request to come closer to "talk about stuff of a different nature", he'll grab Conker and throw him over the edge into the waterfall.
