Rare Ltd. (known simply as Rare) is a British video game development studio founded by two brothers—Tim and Chris Stamper.

Overview

Rare is known for making a variety of games, most notably for the Nintendo 64 and later the Xbox. Some of the company's most well-known titles are the Donkey Kong (starting with Donkey Kong Country), Banjo-Kazooie, Viva Piñata , and Conker series; GoldenEye 007; and Sea of Thieves, as well as Star Wolf. The company is currently a subsidiary of Nintendo and Xbox Game Studios, but has also developed games for the Nintendo DS.
