Acorns are the food in Conker's Pocket Tales. They serve as the life bar in the game.
Conker has four health points. These are represented by an acorn on the screen, which is split into four sections. One section is removed when Conker takes damage.
When an Acorn is found, the health is restored. The acorns do not regenerate; the only way to bring them back is to restart the game.
